Introducing our Minister

Rev James Woolford was born and raised in Bradford and was baptised at Gomersal
Moravian church by Rev David Dickinson. James was raised in the church and attended
regularly throughout his childhood and developed a deep sense of faith and calling of God.
James also has a deep love of performance and studied theatre at a college in Belfast and
then received a degree in Drama from Queen’s University Belfast. He also has a great
passion for music and was awarded an associate of the London College of Music for
singing in a musical theatre style.
Following the completion of his degree, James worked as a professional entertainer for a
number of years doing pantomimes, children theatre and hotel entertainment in Spain and
Hereford. However, the call of God was often niggling in the back of his mind. Finally, James
answered the call and in 2009 began training for ministry at Northern College in
Manchester.
Four years later James began his ministry at Lower Wyke and Wellhouse, then Hornsey and
Harold Road, then Fulneck and Baildon and is now the minister of our congregation and
Royton.
James continues to use his entertaining background in his ministry, especially in working
with children and young people, and also enjoys using magic to share the message of God.
James is married to Annette and has two children, Edward and Charlotte who are all
actively involved in church life in various ways.
